Delete FXP Files provides you with a GUI that allows you to easily reclaim your system after it has been tagged,
allowing you to easily delete directories and filenames that use reserved identifiers.
Tagging (or `Tagging`) is usually the result of having a public FTP server available with anonymous upload access.
People search the Net looking for server like that and will `tag` it, which usually results in various folders and/or files being created that contain reserved identifiers and confuse Windows Explorer, making it difficult
to delete them. Later on, somone will upload various items to the server in order to have others download it.
These items include porn, warez, and other bandwidth-stealing items.
For an idea of the scope of the problem, try Googling for `FTP (tagged OR t@gged) (ISO OR MPEG)` or `PUB-TAGGER FTP NERO1907` and see how many hits you get. Having your servers tagged means that someone is likely
using/abusing your storage space and bandwidth.
Files that have suspect names, such as ones that use reserved system device names, are drawn in Red. Additionally, more than 1540 known FXP groups` names and commonly-used tools are also checked for. Server and above editions of the product implement a Blacklist and Whitelist which are used to customize the
recognition of suspect items. The Process Finder feature can identify what processes are using a particular file or folder, allowing you to easily track down rogue processes.
